Condition
Exterior:
Attractive half-leather binding with gilt lettering on black spine panels and gilt decorative tooling. Marbled boards remain bright with only light rubbing at corners and edges, a few small marks and fading – all consistent with careful use and age. Binding remains robust and appealing.
Interior:
Pages lightly tanned with light, even foxing in places. Marbled pastedowns and endpapers show minor marks. A small binder/retailer sticker for A. Brown & Sons, Savile Street, Hull is affixed to the front pastedown. No pen or pencil inscriptions.
Binding faults / paper defects:
A very light, partial crack in the gutter between pages 16 and 17 of Rob Roy is present (binding remains secure). No loose signatures; no missing pages. A very small fold or tiny crease on a few leaves only. No rips affecting text.
