Exterior Condition
Handsome late-Victorian half-leather binding with gilt lettering on a black spine label and gilt decorative tooling. Marbled boards retain attractive patterning. Light wear consistent with age – gentle rubbing at corners and edges, small marks and fading in places. Overall robust and display-worthy.
Interior Condition
Pages lightly tanned with occasional light foxing common to books of this period; otherwise, clean and predominantly uncreased. A small rip at the top corner of page 15 (and verso) – cosmetic only and does not affect text. A small patch of rubbing on the inside edge of the front flyleaf. All gatherings secure; no loose or missing leaves. Marbled pastedowns and endpapers show minor handling marks. No pen or pencil inscriptions. Overall, a tidy, well-preserved interior.
