Binding & Exterior Description
Bound in the publisher's original cloth over boards, lettered in black to the front board and in gilt to the spine.
The binding remains sound and attractive, displaying only light signs of age and careful use. There is gentle rubbing to the cloth, soft bumping and light rubbing to the corners, light rubbing to the spine and a few small surface marks. Overall, this is a well-preserved and robust Edwardian binding with excellent shelf appeal.
 
Interior Condition
The paper remains bright for its age with only very light toning. The pages are overall exceptionally neat and clean, with only the occasional very small crease or light mark, none of which affects the text or illustrations. There are no tears to the pages.
Pencil ownership inscriptions and light pencil marks are present on the front free endpaper, front pastedown and the reverse of the front free endpaper. The text block remains secure, with only an extremely light opening at the gutter between a couple of pages, which does not affect the binding. All pages and illustrations are present, complete as called for, and have been carefully checked.
