Author & Context

C. Herbert Reilly (1874–1948) was a prominent British architect and educator, particularly associated with architectural teaching at the University of Liverpool. Representative British Architects of the Present Day (1931) sketches profiles and works of the leading architects of that period, bridging traditional architecture and modern movements.

Provenance & Local Interest

  • “Inscribed ownership by R. J. Steffens, B.Sc. of Bricket Wood, St Albans adds local Hertfordshire provenance and is possibly the same Raymond John Daniel Steffens who later authored technical reports on structural vibration at the Building Research Establishment.”
