Issued by Victor Gollancz Ltd. as a single volume, the book is bound in red cloth with gilt lettering to the spine.This edition includes several illustrations, featured only in The Nine Tailors. The dust jacket, though present and unclipped, is heavily worn but has preserved the binding well.
Exterior Condition:
- Red cloth boards in good condition for age, with only light wear and bumping to the bottom corners
- Gilt lettering to spine clear and intact
- Some light fading to the spine
- Dust jacket unclipped, tatty, with some large rips and clear tape reinforcement on the spine
Interior Condition:
- Pages are all present and tightly bound
- Very small tear to bottom edge of p.133 (The Nine Tailors) and to the overleaf; minimal and not affecting text
- No pen or pencil inscriptions
- Pages predominantly clean with only light marks to a few leaves
- Some small creases to a few pages
- Extremely light crack to front pastedown/hinge; otherwise secure
- Pages tanned throughout with some light patching from age
