There are beautiful gilt decorations to front board, decorated pastedowns and endpapers, and numerous illustrations by Ernest H. Shepard throughout the book.  They are so iconic of the fabulous illustrations that A. A. Milne created. 
 
The beautiful deep blue leather boards and spine are intact and robust. However, there is some wear, expected from a book which is almost 100 years old. This includes discolouration and rubbing, especially on the spine, corners and edges, some loss of the leather to the top and bottom of the spine and a very small amount to the very edge of the corners, and small and partial splits on the long edge of the spine. There are gilt titles on the front and spine. Please see the photographs for further reference.
 
Internally, the pages are bright for their age, and just very lightly tanned. The pages are overall neat, clean, and predominantly uncreased, with only the very occasional small or light mark and just a couple of very small creases. None of these obscures the text or illustrations. There are no rips to the pages, except for a partial rip / cracked gutter between the front pastedown and front free endpaper, at central binding. Please refer to the photograph for further details. There is a slight crack in the binding area between a further handful of pages. Examples of this is shown in the photographs. The rest of the binding is secure and there are no loose pages.  There is a small sticker for the previous bookseller on the back pastedown, but there are no pen or pencil marks written inside this book. All 159 pages are present.
