Exterior Condition

 

Handsome late-Victorian half-leather binding with gilt lettering on a black spine label and gilt decorative tooling. Marbled boards retain attractive patterning. Light wear consistent with age gentle rubbing at corners and edges, small marks and fading in places. Overall robust and display-worthy.

 

Interior Condition

 

Pages lightly tanned with occasional light foxing common to books of this period; otherwise, clean and predominantly uncreased. A small rip at the top corner of page 15 (and verso) cosmetic only and does not affect text. A small patch of rubbing on the inside edge of the front flyleaf. All gatherings secure; no loose or missing leaves. Marbled pastedowns and endpapers show minor handling marks. No pen or pencil inscriptions. Overall, a tidy, well-preserved interior.
