Author
Giggi Zanazzo (1860–1911) was a Roman poet, writer, and folklorist who chronicled the life and dialect of ordinary Romans. His works, first appearing in the 1880s, earned him popularity and acclaim for their authenticity and affection for local traditions. Poesie Romanesche gathers verse that reflects the humour, struggles, and sentiments of Roman people, composed in the Roman dialect.
 
Condition
Boards: Good overall condition. Gilt title on spine remains legible. Minor wear includes soft bumping at corners, small cloth tears at spine ends, slight spine lean, and light marks.
Interior: Lightly tanned throughout, with occasional foxing (heavier on prelims), not affecting readability. Pages predominantly clean and uncreased, with only minor signs of age.
Structural Notes: One light partial crack at the title page gutter; pages all secure. A few small inner-edge tears do not obscure text. A slight paper excess is visible at the top corner of page 259 (see photographs).
Inscriptions: None. No pen or pencil marks throughout.
Complete: All 303 pages, including index, are present.
 
This is a rare and culturally significant volume of early 20th-century Roman poetry. A worthy acquisition for collectors of Italian literature, poetry, or Roman cultural history.
